To upgrade the Clearstream firmware, download the latest version here and drag and drop the zip file onto a USB stick. Do not extract or unzip the file.
Shut down your media player and unplug the power jack.
Insert the USB stick into a USB port on your media player.
Insert a cocktail stick or a precision screwdriver into the audio port on the rear of the player. You will feel a hidden button depress inside.
Whilst keeping the button depressed, plug the power jack in and hold until you see the following screen appear.
Use the remote to select the second option on the list 'apply update'.
At the next menu, select 'Udisk'
Then select the Clearstream zip file from the list on the next screen.
The screen will now display a message saying 'Verifying Package', and will then show a progress bar on the screen as it installs the update.
When complete, the bottom of the screen will read 'Install complete'.
Now use the remote to select the top option on the screen labelled 'reboot system now'.
At this stage you may remove your USB stick from the player.
Congratulations, your firmware has been updated and your player should operate normally.
If not, or your system is being setup from scratch, the please carry out the step below.
If you need to restore your original xbmc configuration then please do the following additional step before proceeding to the software restore section, making sure your USB stick is still plugged into the media player.
From the home screen, go right to 'Settings', then select 'System', then 'Addons'.
From here, select the 'Install from zip file' option and select usb 0 as the source on the right of the screen.
Select the file 'Clearstream Restore.zip'
This will enable the xbmc backup addon to be enabled.
